Tarot Card of the Day: Knight of Swords
Tarot Card of the Day: Knight of Swords using the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.
This card depicts a knight on his horse charging into the storm wielding his sword. He is brave, strong, skillful, and eager to overcome all difficulties. But, because he recognizes no limits, he tends to be fanatical. He has difficulty with long, steady plodding because he has a restless mind, and expects his enemies to fall under his charge.
The Knight of Swords may be a representation of you (an interesting side note: there is some evidence that the tradition of knighthood included a certain number of “anonymous knights” who were women, and they took mythic names and veiled their true identities), or someone you know. In your life, are you trying to charge ahead? Do things seem to not be moving fast enough for you? You may be courageous, and feel ready to charge ahead, but you may want to take time to reflect upon the situation first. What are your motives? Is it the best thing for you? The Knight of Swords reminds us that we should plan and strategize. Instead of directing all energy outwards, recognize your limits, and take time to quietly be alone and reflect before charging ahead. If this represents someone you know, you may need to just let them do what they want to do, and step out of their way, it could be difficult to try and stop them.
